Many city dwellers know Barnes and Noble as the bookstore to beat all bookstores. If something is happening in the Big Apple or if someone has some new book to peddle or some fantastic story to break, chances are they will end up at a Barnes and Noble location. No one knows New York City better, perhaps, than a New York City Mayor. Leave it to former New York City Mayor Ed Koch to bring and discuss his latest tome, "The Koch Papers," to a Barnes and Noble booksellers in New York City. The event is happening Thursday March, 5 at 6PM and interested individuals can begin lining up now.

As New Yorkers remember, Ed Koch was mayor at a time of intense growth and prosperity in New York City. However his latest book, "The Koch Papers," is not some self-aggrandizing testament to his work as mayor so much as perhaps the subtitle would reveal. The full title of Ed Koch's latest tome is "The Koch Papers: My Fight Against Anti-Semitism." Advance press paints an even more compelling picture.

"In this provocative new book, Koch with Rafael Medoff guides readers through the major battles in his life-long fight against anti-semitism. Interviews, speeches, new essays, never-before published personal correspondence, and more highlight his leadership--on campuses, in the media, on the streets of New York City, and in the halls of power in Washington, DC. The book also features personal letters from Henry Louis Gates, former President George Bush, and other prominent figures. Koch will reveal startling information for the first time here, and his writings are controversial, piercing, teasing, and questioning. This book will ignite discussion for years to come."

Some of the internet generation may not recognize anti-semitism as something which would affect anyone alive today; however the very real stigmas against certain people's remains as innate and underlying a problem, now as ever. Particularly with the blending of not just cultures but also generations; as one group strives to forget another moves on blindly into a world they don't even realize ever existed.

For folks looking to meet the former mayor, hear him speak, and have him sign your copy of this exciting new tome, the event is happening on Thursday, March 5th, at 6 PM at the Barnes and Noble on the corner of 18th Street & 5th Avenue.
