As disaster struck the Fort Hood military station in Killeen, Texas on Thursday November 5, 2009 much information was and is still coming to light. The suspect in custody's name is Major Nidal Malik Hasan who started shooting his unarmed military members colleagues. It was reported that Hasan shot and killed 12 and wounded 31. The numbers of the Fort Hood shootings have changed with the death of another wounded. Bringing the total dead to 13 and now wounded are 30 others. Major Hasan used two weapons including a semi-automatic gun, and neither weapon was issued to the Major by the military. The Fort Hood, Texas army post was put on lockdown until late Thursday when the situation had been contained. Suspect Hasan was shot multiple times and is currently in stable condition in the custody of the military.

More and more details surrounding the Fort Hood Shootings have come forth as time continues. Suspect Nidal Hasan was rumored to shout, "Allahu Akbar!" which means 'Allah is the Greatest.' Nidal Malik Hasan is a practicing Muslim, devout in the Islamic religion and likely attended Mosque every week. Hasan was also reportedly seen frequently in traditional Muslim garb. All of the background information on Hasan will be carefully looked at during this case and will result in the kind of charges that are made. The military and FBI are looking at Hasan and what his motivation was for this shooting spree.

It was also supposed that Hasan had given some of his possessions away to neighbors earlier this week telling them that he would be leaving Fort Hood on Friday. What the authorities are going to have to find out whether or not this horrible incident at Fort Hood was premeditated and if it had anything to do with terrorism or if the Major acted on his own accord. Hasan while at Fort Hood was already under investigation by the FBI. It is thought that suspect Hasan had posted some concerning messages on the Internet about suicide bombing.

Major Hasan had tried getting out of the army. It was also known that Major Hasan was in disagreement with the Iraq war and the fact that President Obama did not pull troops out. Hasan may face the death penalty for his supposed crimes of killing 12 military personal and 1 civilian person, wounding many others at the Fort Hood facility. Hasan's rampage at Fort Hood lasted for approximately 10 minutes while he open fired on unarmed military personnel.

More information will eventually come to light and fact will be sorted from fiction. Hopefully soon the answers will come and the military families who lost loved ones in the Fort Hood shootings and the families of the wounded will have a conclusion to this chaos.
