This year the Fort Kent Recreation and Parks Department is running a baseball team for children ages 13-16. From June 21 to July 27, eleven games will be played (not including possible playoff games).

The coach this year is Gilbert Michaud, who brings experience to the team as both a former player and current umpire. Coming into the season, he was looking for answers about the team, but after a rough start the team has turned it around.

Michaud says, "The team chemistry is very good now after some concern."

Currently, they are 4-3, with their wins coming from sweeps of both the Madawaska and Limestone ballclubs. With recent strong performances from the team, Michaud is preparing for a winning season and success in the playoffs.

According to Michaud, "[the] team is getting hot at the right time, just before [the] playoffs."

Michaud's goal is "to improve the level of quality of play of the youngsters in the baseball programs of Fort Kent today.
Look for the team in the playoffs coming soon. Michaud noted that the playoff format will consist of seven teams that all make the single elimination tournament. The tournament champions and runners-up will then compete at Presque Isle in the County Finals.
