Bordering Fort Yargo State Park is an amazing 260-acre lake that is the parks main attraction. Complete with a boat ramp, a large beach with a roped off swimming area and a fishing dock, this Georgia state park is a great place to cool off in summer months. Boaters from all over the state come here to fish, swim or to just float.
After a dip in the cool waters of the lake, why not enjoy a round of golf. Disc golf that is. An 18-hole disc golf course is a difficult rated course that winds its way through trees, over hills and down valleys. This is a disc golf course that is sure to challenge even the most skilled disc golfer.
Once you've tallied up your score, head on over to Fort Yargo State Parks hiking trails and mountain biking trails. Over eighteen miles of well rounded trails offers guests a chance to enjoy some of central Georgia's rare wild places. Gradual hills and well groomed trails allow travel for two people side by side. Mountain bikers share this ripping trail, so be cautious of other riders and hikers.
You don't have to be into outdoor sports to enjoy the beauty of Fort Yargo State Park. Weddings have been popular here for some time. Several gazebos, picnic pavilions and covered shelters have been built at scenic areas of the park. From a large group shelter, allowing up to 100 guests complete with barbecue grill, kitchen and chairs to the smaller and more reserved beach and lake view pavilions which can accommodate up to 20 guests, Fort Yargo State Park has a wedding venue for you.
