You live your life for all these years,
Your class reunion ..... Oh what cheers.
You want to go to see all your friends,
To catch up, what their lives have been.
Enjoy like there is no end,
Party hardy as they say with friends,
Who cares about the next day, you will mend.
Then it hits you, all alone in this world,
How can I face them,
Without a girl?
Forty years it has been,
Nineteen sixty eight,
Will never come again.
Little time to decide what to do,
They need an answer,
August TWO.
Two marriages that have failed,
After so many years,
Not much to show,
Except four wonderful kids.
Two are mine,
Then my daughter has two.
I feel I have failed, what to do?
After such a wonderful life,
Now living alone, without a wife.
Take deep breathes,
You say to yourself,
It is so simple, pull one off the shelf.
But in reality you decide not to go,
You wont be missed,
If you don't show.

Post a CommentAwe, I know you will be missed. You should go....I hope you did...That would be sad for life...should you miss this event.
I have never been to one either Ken. It's been years since I saw any of those people, so I really have NO reason to care what they think about my life one way or the other. Take heart to those of us who care about you and enjoy your writings here. The past is just that ...the past!
All right, I'll confess. I have NEVER been to a school reunion. But I do stay current with school friends. Still . . . you need not worry about showing up solo. Dear Mister Mugg . . . you have more than enough personality on your own. They would be lucky to have you attend. ;-)
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Proverbs 21:9
If you think that you are less of a man, because you don't have a woman by your side at a high School Reunion,
You need to rethink your thoughts. You won't be the only one there without someone on your arm, Man or Woman......
Who knows you might even connect with a Female High school Classmate. And you will miss out on that chance if,
(A) you show up with a woman on your arm, and (B) you don't even go, because you don't have a woman on your arm.
Ken, A woman don't make the Man... A Man makes himself what he is, and how the heck do you know that you won't be missed?
There might be an unattached woman there who had a secret crush on you in High School, who is hoping to see you again!
I say that if you don't attend your High School Reunion, because you don't have a woman as a Trophy to show off, Then you probably
didn't want to go in the first place! Go Man! ~ PEACE ~
Wonderful job!!!
Bet they can't write like you Ken. I love you too
I understand what you are feeling now, my twenty-fifth year reunion was held not too long ago, and I decided not to go. I was not a popular kid, and I would rather leave those years in the past. Susie is right, be proud of your kids-they are your greatest accomplishment. As for marriage, If it is meant to happen again, then it will. However, I have found out a long time ago that it is far better to live alone than to live in a unhappy situation that you can't get out of. Peace, my friend.
Bet they can't write like you Ken. I love you too
It is amazing to see our old school pals...the deep tragedies that many have faced..but each and every one have had some sort of "Drama" in their life...this is the real fact !...some people keep things bottled inside..while others are more vocal about it..you are a wonderful man...I know that !!
I find those last two lines verrry hard to believe. I miss you and I have never even met you... so I can only imagine that people who are lucky enough to have known your face would certainly miss you.
And one other thing.... we women are so often bitches... not all we're cracked up to be.... but your kids... they are something to be proud of:)
love you boo boo :)
