Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; How Fuller Figured Women Can Wear Trend-Forward Fashions and Look Fabulous!

Candice
Did you know the average woman in America is a size 14?
Yes, really.

Not everyone who wants to be trendy or even just look fashionable is a size 4. So rejoice today, this is all about fashion for the fuller figured woman who still wants to be 'fashion forward' or 'trend-forward'...in other words, look fabulous no matter what their size label says. The days when full figured women were severely limited in their fashion choices are, fortunately, in the past. Retailers and designers now realize that offering fashionable plus size clothing is very smart business.

Also, full figured women know that who you are is not defined by what size you wear. You can look wonderful and feel great in the body you have. And with so many plus size women's clothing options now available at every price price point, there's no reason you can't look your best.

Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; First, Feel Comfortable!

First and foremost, feel comfortable in what you're wearing. There's nothing worse than a lack of confidence, and if you are uncomfortable in your clothes it makes you look frumpy and it's just plain unflattering. Always, always try on your clothes and make sure you will be comfortable in them. Who wants to be pulling, tugging and adjusting all day just to look good? Find something that fits and allows you to be comfortable being yourself. Plus, all fashion gurus suggest finding the perfect bra to add comfort and style to your look. You don't want bulges in the wrong places, so making sure you have a bra that fits you well and supports you in all the right places is A. No. 1.

Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; The Boyfriend Blazer

Yes girls, the "boyfriend blazer" is back! Remember the 80's when we wore them? They're back, but with an updated and refined style. Fuller figured women can definitely look fabulous in the boyfriend blazer as long as you pair it with a top that suits you. If you are more of a feminine type lady, then pair your boyfriend blazer with a lacy or frilly shirt. Or if you are more of a wild type, pair it with a leopard print top, leopard is also making a comeback. Wear it with form fitting feminine 'skinny jeans' with flat seams (so the seams don't rub your inner thighs and create more friction), also a pair of great shoes, like the "gladiator" heels and a chunky necklace. When buying a boyfriend blazer, look for chic details such as rolled up sleeves with or without print or crinkles. Although a black blazer is universal you might want to look into other basic colors such as nude, brown, white or navy. These cute colors are still versatile to wear with all kinds of color combinations. And remember that the bigger your bust is the fewer buttons you should choose. Because buttons (especially double breasts) tend to add more weight to your bust making it look heavier which can create an imbalance to your overall silhouette.

Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; Wide Leg Pants

Even if you think you can't wear these ladies, believe me, you can. You just have to find the right pair. If you have a short and stocky build, then choose a wide leg pant that has a high waist to lengthen your look, and make sure the wide part of the leg goes straight down from the waist (even with the waist, not wider) you don't want to accentuate the bottom, you want it to look even all the way down. Pair your gorgeous wide leg pants with a beautiful silky top that either has a built-in scarf or fashionable tie it around the top neckline. One tip though, if you are worried about your middle being your worst asset, never wear empire or pleated tops, it will only accentuate the problem. Wear your wide leg pant ensemble with platform heels and you'll look like a million dollars as the shoes really lengthen your look and make you seem taller with longer legs.

Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; Leggings

And believe it or not, leggings are very much in style again. And you thought the 80's would NEVER come back! Ha! Leggings, especially black snakeskin or all black stretch leggings look fabulous paired with a long tunic, a fancy cinched waisted big belt, over the knee boots and a "boyfriend sweater" (if you want to cover up a bit more). Fabulous dahling! And about the boyfriend sweater, make sure that while you're standing, hang your arms down to your sides, and be sure the bottom of the sweater comes to the ends of your fingers and you've got a winner, above that and it'll look frumpy, too far below that and it might look as though you are swimming in it.

Forward Fashions for Fuller Figures; SMILE and Exude Confidence!

Just because you are not wearing the size you did when you were in high school does not mean that you can't exude some confidence. Put on something beautiful and notice how you feel. Better? You bet. Show yourself how gorgeous you can be, and KNOW that you are a strong, beautiful woman, and when you put a smile on your face to let the world know you look good, you'll do just that....look fabulous! A big beautiful smile is the best accessory you could wear all day.

Watching DVRed "If God is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise." Sadly, can't find the words to the spoken word poetry. Look like I'll have to listen to the poetry on the TV and write it down.

Great advice. I've seen fuller figured women who were stunning because of their choice of dress and confidence. LOL. When I was little, my mother told me that I had a big mouth and the only attractive way to wear such a large one was in a smile.
