Forward to Heaven

Tabitha Blades
I'm writing you this letter just to find out how you've been

Tell me what is God like, and how's our next of kin

I know you haven't seen grandpa in such a long time!

I hope you're both having fun, and feeling fine..

The mail's been piling up; I wish I could send it to you

Apologies and promises stamped too late to go through

A year's gone by, and holidays don't mean much anymore

But i'll keep my spirits high - Right up there with yours

So tell me is heaven as beautiful as they say

I bet the view from there could take your breath away

I guess not much has changed with me i'm pretty much the same

Some days are harder than others but i'm always to blame

I could use some inspiration, and I always miss your love

I've got your pictures on the wall, but it's just not enough

I know patience is a virture, but it comes hard for me

I've still got so much left to learn, to do, and to see

Everyone down here is blessed and doing just fine

Even if we need to be reminded from time to time

What I lack in wisdom I make up in understanding

Everyone is always wanting, but no one is ever asking

Try not to worry too much I know it gets the best of you

Even if the ship is sinking you always have the crew

Even though I can not see you I know you're still there

They say seeing is believing, but I feel your presence everywhere

Don't let grandma drive you crazy I know she gets on your nerves

Even though bonds have been strained lately be careful with your words

I won't drown myself in hatred, nor swim in misery

That's something she will never accept about me

But I know somehow things will work out over time

Life marches to it's own beat with no reason or rhyme

When I come to see you guys we'll try to get a long

We did for so many years I just don't know what went wrong

So forward this to heaven; and please do be in haste

Cause if loss teaches you anything; it's that there's no time to waste

I don't expect an answer; just the chance to make it right

So run, run with this letter, straight past the stars tonight
