Fossil Fuel Versus Solar

Solar is the Endless Clean Energy

Jay Safford
I am writing this view on Fossil versus Solar to look at the way I see the Electrical Power for our homes and communities going toward. The Solar industry is a fast growing sector that everybody needs to bear witness to, since it will change all our lives as we now see it. Keep watch, since it will happen sooner than anybody will realize.

First let's take a look at the Coal industry. We us Coal for a lot of things we use each and every day, things like making plastics, melting or heating steel or iron, heating homes and the burners in electrical plants. The list goes on and on. Did you know that coal is used in air filters to take out deadly gases that can hurt us? When coal is burned it can hurt us just as bad as the gases that harm us. Coal is not a renewable fuel supply and it is said to have only 30 or so years of supply left.

We all take for granted that our fuel supplies like oil, coal or gas will last for the rest of our lives. I look at it a different way. I think we all need to look at what the environment is going thru either by our hands or something natural. We all need to take action now for earth and our survival. We may have thirty years or more of oil and coal to use, but will our lungs and skin be able to handle it and the environmental impact could cause global warming to cross the threshold that we do not even know what that is yet! We may have already hit the point of no return.

There are a lot of things that we can do to help mother earth possibly heal from the wounds that we have caused. Let's look at one that would help short and long term. Solar energy is the energy the sun puts out each and every day and is considered to be a fuel source that will be there till the end of time as earth will know it. The Sun puts out enough energy to cover all out energy needs ten times over every day and then some.

This is with the technology of today with Solar Panels and Heat Collectors. The solar panel is used to convert the suns light to electricity and heat collectors will warm our water for our uses such as to heat the water we bath in or the pools we swim in. Solar panels will not only make electricity for us to use or store for later use it will allow us to sell excess power to the electrical company. If we produce enough power from solar, then we can break free of the bonds that fossil fuels have on us all. The heat of the Sun heats the Earth and underground the earth stay's at temperatures that we can either cool or heat our homes without the use of fossil fuels.

All of these Technologies are here to use today and we all need to start using them! When should we start? Today I say! We can start by using the new style light bulbs in our homes. Go look at getting some sort of solar items, to either light outdoor lights or to supply part or all of your electrical needs. Just by getting a little at a time we can all make a difference in our world.

Take a look at some of the small and large solar companies out there in the stock market like XSUNX (XSNX) or Solar Enertech Corporation (SOEN). These are small companies today and who knows they could be the next First Solar (FSLR) in a year or two. All I am saying are you can do something to help. All of us need to do our part.

A point to remember is that oil is not renewable, we cannot create another stockpile of it, whereas with solar enrgy this is possible. If the reasons aren't obvious as to why we should convert to solar, then I suppose humanity deserves to run out of energy for the amount of ignorance it possesses.

    Steve The Oil Man,

Who is being the smart ass? I just voiced my opinion. They both will run out in the future, except Oil MAY be in our life time. If we wait till we run out of oil, then look for alternatives, we will be back to the dark ages again. Just my opinion Steve!
