Four Fall Beauty Must-Haves

K. F. Lynn
With autumn upon us it is time to change up our beauty routines! Fall is a wonderful time to experiment with autumn colors, and these four products are on my list of must-haves for fall.

Plum lipstick. A common misconception is that purple hues are reserved for springtime: wrong! One of the most flattering colors in the fall is a rich purple plum shade. I am personally in favor of lipstick with a satin or matte finish, but shop around and see what suits you the best! A few colors that I would suggest are Dark Side by MAC or Shrinagar by NARS. A bold, plum lip during a fall outing will get you noticed.

Gold nail polish. Gold nail polish is absolutely stunning on any skin tone, and when the leaves outside are changing color, let your nails change with them! A crisp metallic gold or copper tone will add a gorgeous and original pop to your hands while complimenting the coziness and warmth of indian summer. A few great options are Goldie by Zoya or Penny by Zoya.

Black gel eye liner. Gel liners are a little more user friendly than liquid liners, which can be messy and difficult to apply. As with anything, gel liners take a bit of practice and getting used to but once you have the hang of it, the results are incredible! Gel liner gives you the freedom to create a smokey effect or a sharp line, both of which are beautiful for cooler weather. Using a stiff angled brush, create a wing-tip line on your top lid and add just a hint of mascara to your lashes. This is a simple, fresh and easy eye look for fall.

Warm cheeks. Blush, of course! Autumn is a wonderful time for simple makeup (there are enough colors going on outside, you don't need them on your face), and a nice, warm blush can completely change the way you look. For fall, stick to warm coral shades and not deep pinks/plums. These can be too overpowering for a transitional season like autumn, so choose a warm shade such as Orgasm by NARS, or Pretty Peach by Covergirl.

Keep these must-haves in mind this season as you shop around for a new look! A change in season is a great excuse to play with your makeup. Remember to be creative and love your look, and soon you'll have your very own list of must-haves!
