LSU will be well represented in Super Bowl XLV, on Sunday, February 6, 2011 as four former LSU Tigers will be on the hunt for a Super Bowl Championship wn.

The four former Tigers who will play in Super Bowl XLV are Matt Flynn, Quinn Johnson and Howard Green suiting up for the Green Bay Packers, the NFC Champions. Ryan Clark will be on the opposing team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the AFC Champions.

On the Green Bay roster, Matt Flynn is the backup quarterback. During his collegiate career at LSU Flynn led the LSU Tigers to a 2007 BCS National Championship win over Ohio State with a score of 38-24. Flynn has been with Green Bay for three seasons counting the current season.

Quinn Johnson plays backup fullback, also in his third season with Green Bay. Howard Green, a backup defensive lineman, is in his first year with the Packers. Green has played for six different NFL teams in his seven years of playing in the NFL.

On the other side of the 50 yard line will be Ryan Clark suited up in black and gold in a Steelers' uniform. Clark is in his fifth season with the Steelers and ninth in his NFL career playing at the safety position. Clark is a leader on the Steelers' roster with 90 tackles and two interceptions to his credit during his tenure with the Steelers.

To date, LSU has had 23 former football players go on to win championship rings in the Super Bowl. This year the chances of bumping that number up to 26 are good with the Green Bay Packers favored to win the game.

Super Bowl XLV will be played in Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Kickoff is scheduled for approximately 6:25 pm. The game will be broadcast on the FOX network.
