For the baby
Buy a soft stuffed animal Easter basket; they come in shapes of bunnies, lambs, and ducks. Place an educational toy; one that lights or plays music in the basket. Then fill the rest of the basket with practical baby items. Some items that work well are baby bibs, wash clothes, diapers, wipes, and baby lotion. Do not forget to add a chocolate bar for mom and dad. There are only a few short year where your baby will not mind you sharing their candy!
For the outdoor toddler
Skip the traditional Easter basket and fill a sand pail instead. Fun items to fill the sand pail with are; sand toys, an outdoor ball, bubbles, truck or car for the sand, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat. To keep the element of Easter add in a few plastic Easter eggs with the child's favorite candy.
For the arts and crafts lover
Instead of an Easter basket consider using an organizer that is meant to hold craft items. Fun items to include inside are; construction paper, erasable crayons or markers, play doh or modeling clay, and a coloring book. For girls grab a friendship bracelet making kit and for boys use an airplane kit. For that Easter touch add a bendable bunny on top of the organizer and a bag of jellybeans.
The traditional Easter basket
Choose a round or square traditional Easter Basket. Place in Easter grass and fill. A stuffed bunny, kite, spring cookie cutters, little toy figurines, playing or memory cards, and bubbles are always fun to use. Make sure you personalize the basket to the child. If the little girl likes Dora consider adding in a Dora activity book or DVD. If the little boy likes dirt bikes than you can place in a little dirt bike figurine. Sprinkle candy around the bottom of the basket. To finish up seal the basket with Easter cellophane wrap.
Easter baskets do not have to be costly even if you add many items. Children will be happy with variety. Know who you are buying for and your task of creating a fun Easter basket can be quick, easy, and inexpensive.
