Four Great Florida Museums and Attractions for Guys

Short List of the Sunshine State's Tourist Sites Most Men Won't Want to Leave

JA Huber
Men in my life are not fans of most tourist sites and simply wander through without much interest. Living in the Sunshine State I have found four great testosterone-filled museums and attractions guaranteed to capture a guy's attention. Check these out during your next Florida vacation.

He'll be the Top Gun at the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola

This museum will capture the heart of any guy who remotely enjoys aviation or the military. Located in Florida's Panhandle on the Pensacola Naval Air Station, there are more than 4,000 military artifacts and more than 150 restored aircraft from Coast Guard, Marine Corp and Navy aviation including Blue Angels jets. Feel the exhilaration in Flight Simulators and the IMAX Theatre. To truly enjoy and appreciate military culture and history, tour the museum with one of the tour guides who served in the military.

Rev Your Engines at Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City, Punta Gorda

A guy's engine will be revved when visiting this Southwest Florida muscle car museum. The collection of nearly 200 automobiles dating back to the 1920s is the collection of one man, Rick Treworgy. High-power muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s are the museum's primary focus with a vibrant collection including Chevy Corvettes, Camaros and Pontiac GTOs. It's hands off at this museum except in the sales center. Within Muscle Car City is a diner with cheesesteak sandwiches, hamburgers and creamy milkshakes.

Lift Off at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Cape Canaveral

Viewing a space craft launch is a thrilling experience but it is not an everyday occurrence at the Kennedy Space Center. Guys will enjoy the excitement of the space program whether there is launch or not. Located less than an hour east of Orlando, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a tribute to the space program's past and telescope view into its future. Attractions include a simulated space shuttle launch in the Shuttle Launch Experience; bus tour with visits to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, International Space Station Center and LC 39 Observation Gantry to see working facilities; the Rocket Garden; interaction with astronauts to hear first-hand experiences about life in space; United States Astronaut Hall of Fame; and IMAX Theater.
