Four Hidden Costs You Should Consider when Buying an iPad or Any Other Tablet

The Extra Costs of Buying an iPad

Millionaire Hoy
When most people think about buying an iPad, they usually feel that they're done shopping after they buy the main product - but they are totally wrong and should pay attention to these hidden costs before forking over their cash for a new iPad or tablet.

Apps

Apps make the iPad what it is and although there are tons of free apps in the iTunes Apps Store [way more than when I bought mines], most of the really cool and innovative apps are gonna' cost ya'. If you're buying yourself an iPad or gifting one to a spouse, friend, or family member, the gift or purchase isn't complete without an iTunes gift card or some other way to purchase apps.

Accessories

Be sure to map out and incorporate the prices of the accessories you'll want for your iPad into your budget before buying one. Although most people only think about buying an iPad before entering an electronics store, hardly anyone exits the store without at least an iPad case or cover. You want to be prepared to spend money on accessories instead of being blindsided by their costs on the backend.

Protection Plans

Most iPad resellers offer some sort of in-store protection plan or extended warranty and it's best to phone in ahead of time and know this price in advance - if you're interested in purchasing one. To be frank, the iPad comes with a year's protection after purchase and you usually have up to 90 days to consider upgrading to their Apple Care extended warranty, but if you plan to knock all the costs of your iPad at the point of sale, it'll help to know what the asking prices of the protection plans are.

Service Plans

If you're planning on getting more than just a WiFi connection with your tablet and are opting for one with mobile broadband (3G), you'll also have to consider not only the additional cost of the 3G device, but also the cost of the recurring service of your choice. It makes absolutely no sense to purchase a 3G iPad if you're not planning on using the service.
