Four Holiday Gifts Ideas for Teachers

B. Hatcher
Before you know it the time will come when your child wants to give a gift to their teacher. Each year many parents struggle with what type of gift should they give? Gifts do not have to be expensive or teacher related, in fact most teacher have enough of the "best teacher" paraphernalia out there. Themed gifts are great for teachers, as they can share them with others in their families. Here are four themes that make great gifts for teachers.

Movie themes are great since it can be shared with a family. Most teachers spend more time with our children than they do their own. So give them something that promotes family time. Start with a small basket, or even a bucket of microwave popcorn. Then add in some theater box candy, which can be purchased at most retailers. The only thing to add is a gift card from one of the local movie rental places. Once you have purchased everything a poem can be added to the bucket. You can write the poem yourself or find one on the internet.

For the female teachers a basket with some nice manicure tools in it. Of course you need to notice, if she even bothers with her nails. A nice lotion, some nail products and a gift certificate to a local salon for a manicure would be perfect. What teacher would not like to be pampered for an hour or so in her down time?

School Supplies are another great gift. Most teachers pay for most if not all of the supplies they have in their rooms. Now day's school lists are asking for Kleenex, paper towel and even copy paper. Decorating a nice box and filling it with supplies for the classroom will bring a smile to every teacher's face.

Gift certificates for film developing are another great gift. Most teachers use their personal cameras and pay for all the pictures you see in the classroom. A photo basket would make a great gift. In the basket include some albums for keeping the pictures, disposable cameras, picture frames and a gift certificate for developing film or having prints made off a digital camera.

Teachers appreciate the gifts that parents and students give them yearly. However times are changing and it is okay not give the teacher a mug or picture frame stating they are the best. Just by showering them with a gift you are showing them how much you appreciate the hard work they do every day with our children. So this year surprise the teacher in your life with one of the ideas above.
