Four Leaf Clover

For Cody

Mandy Kaye
You have been gone for far too long
Through the mist and distant fog
I hear your voice in the dead of night
Screaming pains "This isn't right."
I found a friend and you kept me warm
You held my hand through a dreadful storm
With thoughts and coffee you broke the wall
Winter came, the end of Fall
And with it brought a soft goodbye
Sometimes in life we don't ask why
Accepting fate and travel plans
That carry us to distant lands
But in my heart you'll always be
Long after you've forgotten me
In my mind it isn't over
I still have, my friend, a four leaf clover

I like the beat that you you have through out the poem...it has nice rhyming and flow. Good job.

Well worth the wait, I must admit. This one is my favorite so far, by far
