Four Quick Growing Cures for Acne

Did you know you can grow your own acne cures? My Dad let me in on this secret when I was a teenager. While all the other kids were hiding blemishes, my skin was at its youthful best. Why? I had the benefit of good nutrition and topical treatments from our family garden. What's more, acne cures are fast and easy to grow. Next time you're tempted to shell out the big bucks for trendy acne cures, look to nutritional cures instead. They work better and save you a ton of money.

Garlic is the best cure for acne, hands down. This is due to cleansing and antibacterial properties. Best of all, it grows extremely fast. You don't even need a garden. Just plant several cloves of garlic in a pot. They'll sprout in 3-5 days. No, I'm not kidding. It takes very little time for that clove to turn into a harvest-able bulb. Meanwhile, use the extra cloves (that you didn't plant) in all your favorite foods. Garlic can be used topically for break-outs too. Just crush it and rub it on.

Onions and chives have sulfuric properties that cure acne quickly. Both sprout rapidly. Some can be eaten as soon as they're about five inches tall. This should take about ten days from planting time. Save the rest to eat as full grown onions. Like garlic, onion can be used topically for acne break-outs. Just crush and rub on. Best to use this treatment just before bed (so as not to emit offending odors). In most cases, you'll wake up blemish free.

Oregano is well known for removing toxins from the system. Like most herbs, it grows quickly from seed. I like to soak it in lemon juice for greater effectiveness. Just squeeze one lemon. Add a tablespoon of fresh oregano to the juice. Shake and leave over night. In the morning you'll have a super acne fighting toner. Apply and leave on until dry, then rinse. For single pimples, dab it on and leave all day.

Parsley is an internal toxin remover. Adding it to your diet flushes toxins naturally, so they don't cause skin eruptions. My favorite way to get my parsley for the day is by adding it to tomato juice. Just fill your blender with juice, add a cup of parsley and blend. Not only will this daily drink keep you acne free, it tastes delicious too.
