Stress Free Holiday Shopping

You stress and stress each year about what you can possibly buy for your teen aged son, but you never feel as though he's truly happy with your gift, right? Well, I can tell you teen aged boys are just about as difficult to buy for as a teen aged girl, but there are a few differences. Here's a few suggestions to help you on your shopping journey.

Number One: He is in his bed room about ninety percent of the time.

So focus on that, think about gifts you can give him that will make his room a nicer place to hang out with his friends. Rather than a scrubby stained old blanket, get him a new comforter and a new set of sheets. Think about lighting, if it's too dark and dreary in there, get him a new lamp.

Number Two: Music is on high on his list

Teen aged kids, male and female, everywhere listen to large amounts of music. Help him keep all his cds organized with a CD Holder that holds at least ten cds. You might want to think about a portable cd holder as well, that gives him the opportunity to bring cds along on car trips, or sleepovers with friends.

Number Three: Funny T-Shirts

Kids of all ages love funny t-shirts. If nothing else it should bring a smile to his face if he opens up a shirt that says LA LA LA LA....I Can't Hear You! Or maybe a burst of laughter opens a box to see Procrastinate Now.

Number Four: Hygiene is a problem

I will never understand it my self, but for some reason teens have a problem taking good care of their personal hygiene and it is really up to the parents to help them along with it. A teen aged son is no exception, he smells like he has not showered in a week and his bedroom smells like a gym locker room. Add to that the fact that his body is changing and he really should start learning to shave. A few subtle suggestions that will be a big help and will also make him feel manly are:

1. An Electric Razor set - The electric shavers are better for young men to start out with. They are easier to use and there is less chance of him cutting himself.

2. A fancy men's soap and deoderant set. Many different companies make these, during the holiday's you will find them wherever the gift sets are.

3. A Wallet - Money is starting to come into play here, and there is no better way for a young man to learn to manage his own money than a wallet.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you in choosing a few gifts for your teen aged son. I wish you all the luck!
