Four New Things to Do in Chicago
Flying Trapeze Lessons, Sailing, Broadcasting and Fragrance Creation
The list of things to do can go on and on. I have been exploring Chicago for my whole life and have yet to even experience even half of it. Discovering new things to do in Chicago is not that hard but it sure is exciting.
Here are four new things to do in Chicago that you might not have known about.
Flying Trapeze Lessons
Chicago has its very own indoor flying trapeze in the city's only indoor park, Chicago Armory Park, 5917 North Broadway. What used to be a military training center is now a playground for Chicago and visitors to the city. If you have ever had dreams of performing on the circus or just like cheap thrills check out the flying trapeze instruction that is offered by The Flying Genoas. The family run operation will give you complete instruction on the flying trapeze and send you soaring through the air. A one class session will cost you around fifty dollars.
Check out the family run business on their website www.flyinggaonastrapeze.com.
Relive Sports History
Do you have a single moment in sports history that you remember play by play? Recall the person behind the mic and their suspenseful commentary? How would you like to be that guy. You can at the Museum of Broadcast Communications, 400 N. State Street. This little known museum in Chicago is rapidly growing in popularity and importance as it's archives and efforts grow.
The museum is home to the nation's Radio Hall of Fame and serves to document the American experience with its collection of radio and TV programming audio and memorabilia. Fans get the chance to choose from hundreds of important moments in sports history and create their own taped commentary. www.museum.tv/home.php
Create Your Own Signature Scent
If you have been looking for that perfect perfume but you just can't find it why not make your own? The process does not take hours or have to break the bank. At Chicago's Aroma Workshop, 2050 North Halsted, you can create your very own custom fragrance using the shops huge collection of fragrances and essential oils.
Once you have your own scent why not expand your abilities and make a complete bathroom set of lotion, bath gel, massage oil, and shampoos. The best part, the shop will keep a record of your scent in their library catalogue so you can always come back for more. www.aromaworkshop.com
Sail A Tall Ship
The addition of Windy and Windy II to Navy Pier has attracted families, sailing enthusiasts and tourists who are all eager to try a new kind of boat tour in Chicago. The Windy and her sister ship are traditional 150 foot tall ships, driven by the power of the wind alone--or at least once they reach open water.
What makes the new boat tour so popular is the ability to interact in the hour and a half long sail. Guests are allowed and encouraged to assist the crew in raising and trimming the sails and engage in other aspects of the ships operation. The knowledgeable crew is always ready to answer questions and share local and nautical information with guests as the ship sails up and down Chicago's skyline. www.tallshipwindy.com

Wow, you can really do everything in Chicago. Thanks for sharing.
Fun suggestions! My brother and his wife live in Chicago and we're hoping to visit one of these days. I don't think I could handle the flying trapeze, but I love the idea of creating your own signature scent!

Ok, Sophia, I know your next article is going to be your personal report "live from the flying trapeze," and if you survive, we'd all like to hear about your experience sailing the Tall Ship, too. Really great suggestions for people going to Chicago.
Only bad things could happen to me in flying trapeze school. Good Article.
