Having an online business opens the doors of opportunity to meet and interact with so many different people around the world. It's amazing all the people you meet online once you start to get your name out there and engage in online conversation with other online entrepreneurs and potential customers. Some of those people can turn into business partners or repeat customers. The one characteristic that is prevalent with good business leaders is their ability to interact and build relationships with people. Nowadays many business transactions are conducted online, so it would be to your advantage to know how to connect with people. Here are a few tips to create better online business relationships:

1) Share your story and experiences. Be transparent in your online communication and facilitate conversations on the internet whether it be via forums, a blog, or email. People like to know that there is a human behind the website who has a aspirations just like everybody else. When you open yourself up to people, you build a level of trust and other people will be more willing to share a part of themselves as well.

2) Do you deliver what you promise? There's no better way to ruin a relationship than to not deliver on your promise. There are enough scammers out there on the net. Don't become one of them! If anything, the best thing to do is to under-promise and over-deliver. For example, if you have to ship a product to a customer and it normally takes 3-4 days to deliver, you would tell the customer it takes 5-7 days. That way they're happy that it came early!

3) Keep in contact with your people via an online newsletter, email, or company blog. Maintaining constant communication with people keeps you at the forefront of their minds and they'll more likely remember you when they need your products or services. Have a place on your website for customers to enter their email address or be able to

4) Blogs are a great way to interact with other people. Find blogs related to your business and leave comments. Better yet, start your own blog! The more other people get to know you and like you, the more likely they will buy from you.

Building relationships with potential customers or business comrades is like any relationship in life - it takes time, but the investment is worth it. Who knows, those customers can turn into customers for life!
