Four Tips on Building an Opt-in List to Make Money on the Internet
Building a Good List Can Make You Money Almost at Will
The first step is to give good information that people can use. Supplying this good information will make you an expert in people's eyes. How can we get the word out? One of the best tried and true methods of attracting people is through writing authoritative, well researched articles. This technique is called Article Marketing. You submit your article to an article website. You write an article that gives good information and submit it to a place like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and searchwrap.com. These sites allow you to place a link to your website or blog. At the bottom of your article you are allowed to place a little about yourself in the Resource Box. People will read your article, and hopefully click on the link and get sent to your website. On your website you will have set up a small box that will capture their name and e-mail address. Once they fill in that information they become a member of your list. The idea is to give them the option of subscribing to your list. This is why it is called an opt in list.
The second tip is to offer people that reach your website an incentive to sign up for your list. What can you use? Offer them a free small report that will be of interest to them. If your article was on dog grooming, then offer them a free five-part mini course about dog grooming as an incentive for signing up your list. Give them something informational that will make them hot to sign up for your list. Once you have them on your list you can begin to offer them products that to have to sell.
The third thing that you can use it is to remind them that they can always opt out of your list easily by using an unsubscribe link. Most people are bombarded daily with junk e-mail. Reassuring your prospects with a quick way to unsubscribe will build their trust in you. Getting their trust is vital for you to sell them products, e-books, and services. Most e-mail marketing experts say that it takes five or six e-mails before prospect gets his credit card out and buys. They have to trust and like you first before they buy from you.
The fourth tip is to not bombard your prospects on the list with multiple e-mails daily or every few days. People hate to be deluged with new offers daily or every few days. Once a week or every 10 days is enough. The idea is for people to welcome your e-mails and look forward to the information that you are providing. Send too many e-mails and they will unsubscribe. You want these people to be buyers for a long time so don't apply to much pressure or you will lose them.
By using some of these methods you will build a list of friends and customers that will buy from you. By offering them something of value for free they will begin to trust you. Once you have built up their trust you can offer them products and services that will make you money. Opt in lists are a great tool to make money with. Use them wisely and you will profit.
