Soil
It is best to grow Echinacea plants in fertile soil although they will grow in poor or average soil. If your soil isn't too fertile, you should consider adding some compost to it.
Also, you can also implement an organic fertilizer schedule. The soil must also be well-drained. If your area is subjected to standing water, you may want to plant the plant in a raised bed.
Growth
Echinacea plants can grow very tall, up to four feet high in some cases. They can also be up to two feet wide. If your particular plant will grow this tall, you will likely need to stalk it. This will keep the stalks from snapping in half in windy conditions. Expect for the plant to bloom throughout the summer with purple flowers.
Water
It's important that you water Echinacea plants until they have been established. After they are all settled in, you shouldn't have to water them manually unless you live in a very dry climate. The plant's root system allows it to store water for long periods of time.
These are a few tips on growing Echinacea plants plants. Make sure you grow them in fertile soil that is well-drained. Also, if your particular plant grows very tall, then you'll need to stalk it to keep the winds from breaking the stalks.
