The engineering discipline forms the connection between science and technology and their applications. In line with the nation's aspiration to become an industrialized nation, it is crucial that the field of engineering be developed to ensure perpetual industrial and economic growth. An increasing number of engineers are needed to widen the technological base especially where new and emerging technologies are concerned. These are four types of engineering.

Mechanical engineering is involved in design, develop, create and to perform maintenance for the components that support or improve the system and the structure of modern life. The course include thermodynamics, mechanics application, materials, solid mechanics, electrics and electronics technology, control and instrumentation, power generation, manufacturing technology, manufacturing system and others. It also combined of the latest technology such as automation industry, advanced manufacturing system, computer integrated manufacturing, condition monitoring and maintenance management.

The role of civil engineers are increasingly important today in solving many complex and challenging problems which can only be done if they possess an integrated knowledge and excellent work ethics as well as good managerial skills. Civil engineering is important part to build the building or houses. The engineer must be efficient, accountable and highly professional service. In civil engineering, there have four specializations such as geotechnical engineering, construction engineering, structural engineering and water engineering. Its involved planning, design, construction and building maintenance, bridge, harbor, dam, electrical substation, highway, railway, airport, water supply and distribution, waste water management, flood mitigation and landslides.

The era of research and development of communication technology is moving forward rapidly equivalent to the economic and industrial growth of the nation. Moving with it, electronic and telecommunication engineering applied the usage of the latest components of Information Technology and electronic gadgets. This engineering concentrates on the association between electronic and telecommunication. Recently, many country compete each other in telecommunication business. They try to find the ideas to make a new user friendly models which can be satisfying the customers. The technology of electronic and telecommunication engineering are very useful.

Computer technology affects many areas of our lives and should not be limited to the controls and operations of computer hardware and software in relation to various types of information. The engineering related to computer technology, combining the study of computerization, telecommunications and electronics technologies. Today, the usage of the computer is most important for people either in office or house. It's become important because some business use computer to make the business daily which can give them the profit.

    The three most common engineering disciplines are civil, mechanical, and electrical. But there are many other engineering disciplines. If you go by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), the organization responsible for the development of the exams that are used in the process of registering engineers, there are 16 separate engineering disciplines. There are other types of engineering that are not covered by NCEES, such as biotech engineering.
