Four Ways You Can Tell Your "Ladies' Man" Days Are Over

You're a young man in your prime, right? Of course you are. But in recent months you've felt a slight shift in your romantic life. You're still scoring dates. But you can't seem to put your finger on what's different. If lately you've been entertaining these types of thoughts, the thing that's different is probably you. There comes a point in a single guy's life when he realizes that his days on the prowl are numbered.

You're getting rusty with your "Single Guy Moves."

That nifty joke about a two priests, a bottle of Rum, and a golden retriever, no longer seems to earn giggles from the ladies. (Perhaps it never did.) But you've got other "single guy moves." And none of those seem to be as potent as they used to be either. You're still the clever guy that you've always been. But it's likely that you've been on the single scene so long that either you're losing touch with what's deemed "hip"-or you're just no longer governed by the little "games" that accompany pursuing new love interests.

Your Little Black Book has dwindled down to a Little Black Pamphlet.

This is possibly the most telltale sign that your days as a Ladies' Man are rapidly dwindling. As the years progress, you'll find that the numbers in your proverbial little black book no longer work. Some of your lady friends have moved away. A good number of them have gotten married or moved on to some other lucky guy. Some have become mothers. In any event, your "Standbys" are no longer standing by.

You've started cooking more (or for the first time.)

Perhaps you've always had flair in the kitchen. But if you find that you're drawn to preparing your own meals more than grabbing the quick bite or eating fast food, this may be a sign that you're subconsciously ready to settle down. You may even be paying more attention to your health these days, preferring home cooked food over fast, greasy fare-which is a definite good thing. This particular behavior is also tied to the desire to save money for the future for things like retirement, large purchases-and eventually-married life.

All women are starting to look alike.

Has it always been this way? This is the question you ask yourself as you sip a beer, scanning the sea of hot babes all dressed in similar outfits with hairstyles that look like carbon copies. Chances are, it's always been this way. You're not exactly jaded yet. You just happen to be looking for something different-more fulfilling. Don't be alarmed. This can actually be a good thing. As you wade through the carbon copies of women in the Single World, it just might be easier for you to pick out women who are infinitely more interesting. Most consider the ability to see through the glitz and glamour to the women within, an admirable character trait.
