Bentonville's Celebrations
On June 28, the first Baptist Church of Bentonville is sponsoring Celebrate America. This is shaping up to be a great pre-fourth of July celebration. The activities begin at 7pm. Free food, celebrity guests, and a military flyover are just some of the planned activities.
July 3 Bentonville is starting to celebrate the Fourth of July as part of First Friday in Bentonville Square. July's theme is Mom, Baseball and Apple Pie. This event is hosted by Downtown Bentonville and it runs from 5 to 8pm. Special Fourth of July events for this First Friday include watermelon seed spitting, the Ozark Quartet, bluegrass performances, apple pie and hot dog eating contest, and weenie dogs in costume.
Back to the Square on July 4 at 10 am for an all out parade. Bring your dogs, cats, pets, trikes, bikes, and anything else you can decorate red, white and blue for a Fourth of July parade during the Farmer's Market. Grab some lunch at a local restaurant and then head over to Memorial Park where the City of Bentonville will put on a fireworks display. While waiting, take a dip in the pool at the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and get a good seat for the fireworks display.
