Description:

On July 4, Quassy Amusement Park will be offering a '3-D' fireworks display. 3-D glasses are being sold for $1 and the money will be going to charity. Guests are welcome to come early and enjoy the rides and beach before the fireworks start.

Great American Boom

Independence Day Parade

Location: 555 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT

Time: Starts at 11 a.m. July 4

Price: Free

Description:

In Madison there will be a wonderful parade celebrating the 4th of July. The parade begins at 11 and will make its way throughout downtown Madison. Hundreds of groups are participating in the parade including professional performance groups. This year the parade will be hosting two new special events. They will be the 'neighborhood float competition' and 'show your pet' competition. This parade is recognized as one of the greatest parades in Connecticut.

July 4th Parade and Picnic

Location: Cove Road, Lyme, CT

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Price: Free

Description:

Lyme will be hosting a special old-fashion parade in celebration of July 4. The parade will start at 11 and afterwards everyone is invited to attend a free picnic sponsored by the Reynolds family.

Sounds of Liberty

Location: State Capitol, 210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT

Time: 1:30 p.m.

Price: Free

Description:

At 1:30 p.m. the celebration will begin with a speech by descendent of George Read along with a short presentation on the Connecticut signers. At 2 p.m. replicas of the Liberty Bell will ring 13 times to commemorate the 13 colonies. This is a very authentic and meaningful way to celebrate the holiday.
