Fourth of July Fireworks in Rochester, NY

Seeing Fireworks in the Flower City

J. Rowe
The city of Rochester in Monroe County, New York will be hosting its annual fireworks celebration on Friday July 4th. The fireworks are set to start at 10pm. The City of Rochester's website reports that they are going to be launched from the troop howell ramp off the inner loop of 490. This location has been used in years past.

R News has reported in past years that the best place to view the fireworks include the Broad Street and Main Street bridges as well as Chestnut Street near the Washington Street Garage. Finding parking in that area can be tedious at times. The city has in the past provided free parking in the past at several parking garages in the area including Washington Square, Court Street, and Sister Cities garages. Depending on where you are coming from it may be better to get off before the inner loop on the 490 and drive up South Clinton Avenue to try to reach the optimal viewing locations. This venue is especially good for those who like to see the Rochester skyline lit up by the fireworks.

For those who want to avoid the traffic and road work of the city of Rochester, the town of Henrietta will also be having a fireworks celebration at approximately 9:40pm housed at Veteran's Memorial Park on Calkins Road. Prior to the event there will be music, entertainment, kids activities, and a craft sale. This venue works well for those coming off the 390 or New York State Thruway into the Rochester area.

Look at the one that they showed on TV. in Boston why can't Rochester have one that nice, just start at the begenning of the year and set some of the money aside for just that reason even if we have to pay a little bit more tax just let us know that it's going towards our fireworks display for the 4th of July holiday, some city we live in everything is cut except crime.

Hello everyone and happy 4th of July to all, First I'd like to say If the city of Rochester called that A fireworks display they should be ashamed, we as tax payers pay all thoese tax and can't have a decent frieworks display, that one only lasted 23 minunets, in my opinion the one last year was better I think that they shouldn't use that company anymore. use the company that they used last year, and save some of our tax dollars to put on a bigger display next year because this years wasn't worth the time to come to see.

Google was able to give me the answer to my question faster than the DemocrateandChronicle web page.
