Parking at Fourth of July Park is plentiful, but does get crowded because of the poularity of the park. There are two parking lots at the park and guests can park in either lot. The parking lot off of Mountain Street is usually the busiest since it is closer to the activities. The parking lot located on Bodenhamer Street is usually less crowded, but is also not as large. If you choose to use the parking area on Bodenhamer, you will have a further walk to the playground equipment and other activities of the park.
Fourth of July Park has three play areas. One area is older and does not have much to offer, but can still be fun for kids that enjoy playing alone. Rarely are there kids on that playset. The new playground has alot to offer kids of all ages. There is a small play area for toddlers. It is shorter and has two slides, a steering wheel, crawl through tunnel, small steps and a small bridge. The playground in the center is made for older children and is very large. There are lots of slides, a zipline, two rock climbing walls, bridges, hanging stepping stones, monkey bars and sliding poles. There is also an area with swings for both babies/toddlers and older children. All of the playgrounds have the new, padded ground surface for additional protection. A water fountain is located at the playground and there are bench seats available.
Tennis courts and a skate park are new at the park since rennovations have taken place. Skateboarding enthusiasts will enjoy the variety of ramps and jumps that are available free of charge to the public. There are no tennis or skateboard equipment sales or rentals, so visitors do need to bring their own.
Beside of the tennis courts and skatepark there are clean public restrooms, water fountains and drink machines. The park also has picnic tables onsite and large shelters that can be reserved for parties and other types of celebrations.
