Fox Channels Off Air for 3 Million in NY, NJ, and CT Cablevision Costumers
Fox Channels Went Off the Air at 12:01 Saturday Morning for 3 Million
News Corps Fox and Cablevision could not reach and agreement, despite last minute negotiations. The result being that Fox broadcast stations were taken off of cablevision.
News Corp is demanding too much money from
Cablevision for the Fox stations. The Cablevision would not meet their demands resulting in last nights blackout.
Once the screen turned to black, a voice came on over the blacked out channels and read a list of grievances from Cablevision. This including some very harsh words towards News Corp such as: "holding their own viewers hostage," "corporate greed." and "extortion."
The 3 million customers that are looking at a black screen where the Fox station once appeared are in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, according to the Trentonian.
Fox News is the exclusive network for the Major League Baseball National League Champion Series.
Cablevision Customers will miss out on game one of the Phillies play off game if an agreement is not reached before the start of the game at 7:57pm.
It is unlikely that this black-out of Fox stations will last for very long, News Corp Fox will only gain bad publicity by keeping the channels away from the public.
That being said, there is no way to speculate when the negotiations will come to a head so each side is happy. Many of the baseball fans who are without the Fox channel are hoping that the stations are back on the air for the big Phillies game tonight.
