Fox News' Liz Trotta Says Sarah Palin Should Stay Home

Thoughts from a Supporter of Sarah Palin

Tina Molly Lang
Controversial Fox News contributer Liz Trotta is making news of her own. On a Fox News segment, Liz Trotta suggested that Sarah Palin should not have been in the running for vice-president. She argued that Sarah Palin would not be able to balance duties to her country vs. duties to her family. Megyn Kelly defended Sarah Palin by arguing that it was possible for a conservative mom to balance duties.

Liz Trotta is a Fox News contributer and former New York bureau chief for the Washington Times. She is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism and holds three Emmy Awards.

Fox News' Liz Trotta is no stranger to controversy. In May, she jokingly advocated Barack Obama's assassination. Although she apologized for the remark, numerous petitions have circulated the internet asking for Fox News to sack Liz Trotta.

Fox News' Liz Trotta Says Sarah Palin Should Stay Home: My Thoughts

I do not agree with Fox News' Liz Trotta on Sarah Palin. I believe that it is possible for a conservative (or any) woman to balance career and family. Sarah Palin's decision to carry a child with Down's Syndrome speaks highly of family values and the belief that every child deserves a chance. Besides, if Liz Trotta felt that strongly about women being at home, then why does she have a career of her own?

I admire Sarah Palin and was excited to see her on McCain's ticket. Although Sarah Palin is relatively inexperienced, I do not see it as a liability. McCain needs a younger person to balance the ticket. No one can diminish her accomplishments. As governor of Alaska, she has one of the highest approval ratings in the nation. She is a porkbuster who knows how to balance budgets. Sarah Palin is the best of both worlds. She solidifies McCain's conservative credentials while being an unconventional choice for McCain.

Liz Trotta is also wrong to suggest that other conservatives would not vote for McCain because of Sarah Palin. Conservatives did not object to Margaret Thatcher, Condoleeza Rice, or Elizabeth Dole.

Sarah Palin faces scrutiny not only from conservative Liz Trotta, but also from the liberal media. Democrats were quick to cry foul over her daughter's pregnancy. Bloggers even suggested that Sarah Palin faked a pregnancy in order to cover for her daughter. This allegation turned out to be false.

Although I disagree with Liz Trotta's comments, I don't think these comments will significantly hurt Sarah Palin. After Liz Trotta's remarks about an Obama assassination, I don't think viewers will give much credence to anything she says.

You have to agree that Palin DOES look a little like a "Slutty Flight Attendant." Right??? Also, I'm SURE that Bristol WOULD sleep with Alex Rodriguez, as would most of you. What's wrong with that? It's funny!

Couldn't agree more! Wish I read Tina's news piece last Sept.

One correction, Under Sarah Palin, the state of Alaska brought in more ear-marks than any other in the Nation.

How is using a Down's Syndrome child a political ploy a family value? She parades this kid around like its some holy relic. Plus her stance against abortion even during rape seems more than a little extreme.

Ms. Palin didn't satisfy my questions. If she believes in Right to Life, then she should also believe in the quality of life. It appears that she believes that if you have money enough to hire a care giver, then you can persue any career and leave your child with down syndrome with that care giver. The job of Vice President is a very demanding one. I too believe she should stay at home with her children. One can't serve both her children and this office at the same time.

The idea that trailer trash Sarah Palin is Margaret Thatcher is a sorry joke by the anti-intellectuals who have trooped to the Republican colors (a party once dedicated to elitism and high standards) due to their hate of modernity and Afircan Americans. A member of the English middle class (which means she was truly middle class, something that escapes the ken of a normal American, where everbody from someone on welfare to someone making $5 million, according to Dishonest John McCain, is middle-class), Margaret Thatcher went to Oxford University and studied to be a barrister. She was a member of Edward Heath's cabinet and the leader of the Tory Party from 1975 through 1990. She was 54 years old when she became prime minsiter, and she had only one child. She was an intellectual, not the pathetic anti-intellectual, non-intellectual we saw being interviewed by Charles Gibson. Anyone that could contemplate voting for John McCain, let alone Palin, on anything other than straight, racist gro

Why hasn't the press said the obvious: That John McCain chose Sarah Palin because he hadn't vetted her thoroughly enough (and thus didn't know about her pregnant teen daughter), but vetted her as much as he needed as he is determined TO EXPLOIT BRISTOL PALIN & HER PREGNANCY. Her mother is determined to exploit that pregnancy, too. Bristol Palin is now the poster girl of the anti-abortion forces her mother is part of, and it has brought millions into the McCain campaign coffers. It is shameful. A for her having a Down's syndrome child, such a child is highly disruptive to a family, despite all the phony baloney nonsense the child support people traffic in, as they make their livings off of these children. I have a sibling who listened to the propaganda about how these children are near normal, etc. That sibling's life has been torn apart. Sarah Palin has put her own naked ambition before the needs of her children. She is the worst phony in America, as you can't score John McCain too bad

It is Sarah Palin's obligation and responsibility to her family- children and husband- not societies!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not the juggling career and family that bothers me... it's the things like continuing to give a speech after her water broke (knowing it was a high-risk pregnancy) and later stating I was not going to miss that speech!... it's after the speech then jumping on an 8 hour flight at 8 mnths pregnant (which is against Medical advice, I know because I just had a child and was told I should not fly after 6 mnths).... and it's returning to work 2 days after giving birth to a baby with special needs like Down's. Those babies are so delicate that most do not even survive pregnancy.. what kind of ffamily values would not include putting a child's needs (like his) first? And I'm so tired of rading "if a man were in her posistion would you say the same thing.. or what about Hilary's child" or wahtever else is off this point. We're talking about a newborn, with very special needs, needing his Mother and a Mother putting him second to a 12 hour a day career where she, of all people, has

Obama's wife is a homemaker. Todd Palin works for big oil, one of Sarah's interests, er, noninterests, er, whichever she's calling it today.
