Glee Spring Episodes - Premiere Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

The Glee Winter Finale had the "gleeks" of fictional William McKinley High School winning the sectionals competition. In the new spring season of Glee we find Glee club member, Rachel (Lea Michele) dating high school jock, Finn (Cory Monteith). Glee fans should expect plenty of fireworks from the unlikely couple this season as Finn becomes disgruntled with the rules of high school dating.

Expect bigger production numbers from the show that one a Golden Globe for best comedy/musical for its first season. The spring season of Glee will have bigger numbers and more elaborate production sequences. The April 20th episode entitled, "The Power of Madonna" will have the show revolving around Madonna tunes, with the highlight being a remake of Madonna's "Vogue" video. There is already talk of Jane Lynch who brilliantly plays high school cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester being a shoe in for an Emmy.

The April 27th episode entitled "Home" blends stories about family and self esteem with amazing musical performances by guest star, Kristin Chenoweth and series regular, Chris Colfer. The episode features a show-stopping version of the song, "A House Is Not a Home".

Why Is Glee So Popular

When Glee was introduced in the fall of 2009, the series was considered a long shot. A high school musical comedy had not been done, and many were skeptical about the potential for success for an optimistic, cheerful show with a story line about high school outcasts and high school stereotypes. The first season of Glee started strong and continued to improve each week. Critics are saying that the first three episodes of the second season are the best yet. Glee is also one of the most labor intensive shows on television, with each episode featuring several large musical productions. Glee is said to now be one of the most popular shows on television. The Glee Facebook fan club has over 1,640,000 Facebook fans.

High School Glee Clubs Gaining Popularity

Has the success of Fox's Glee television series caused a growing popularity of high school glee clubs? It appears that it has. An article from the Mercury News talks about how members of High School Glee clubs and choruses were once the targets of school bullies. Ever since the success of Fox's Glee television show, High school singing programs and their members are now gaining recognition for their talents. Some schools, including the local Pennsylvania high school that my sons attend, have recently added high school glee clubs.

According to television critics Glee fans have much to look forward to when season two premieres April 13, 2010.

You are absolutely right Brian. I have to catch myself with the four month hiatus the show took, I keep calling the second part of the first season the second season, which it is not. Thanks for pointing it out.
