Omar Epps: Early Life

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Epps aspired to start a career in the entertainment industry. Before becoming a successful actor, Epps was a member of a rap group, Wolfpak, which is formed with his brother in the early 1990's. His creative side wasn't entirely focused on starting a rap career. As early as ten years old, Epps enjoyed writing screen plays, which likely sparked his interest in starting a film and television career.

Epps has been in the public eye for several years. He made his film debut in the movie Juice, where he starred opposite Tupac Shakur. This film told the story and tragedy of four friends growing up on the streets of Harlem. After starring in his first motion picture, Epps' career flourished, and he went on to co-star and star in several films such as Major League 2, Higher Learning, and The Program.

Before starring as Dr. Foreman on the medical drama House, Epps had a recurring role on the NBC hit medical drama ER. Epps played the role of Dr. Grant, a medical intern. In 2004, Epps landed the role of Dr. Foreman, and appears with Huge Laurie, Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer, and Robert Sean Leonard.

Omar Epps: Personal Life

For approximately three years, Omar Epps dated actress Sanaa Lathan, his co-star in the film Love and Basketball. In 2004, Epps become engaged to Keisah Spivey, a member of the singing group Total. He has one daughter, K'mari.
