A quite common site in every home, fragranced pillar candles, are great centerpieces for mantles, dining room tables and coffee tables. They are usually adorned with bows and flowers and are easy to complement with any other ornaments for they come in diverse sizes and colors. You can choose from a variety of scents to match with any occasions or seasons of the year. However, you may also opt for non-fragranced candles if all you are only after of the decorative colors of the candles or you may even go for plain white candles.

Another variant is the fragranced jar candle, which also fits for any type of events. Putting off its flame is as easy as 1-2-3. All you have to do is to simply replace the top of the jar. On the contrary, having a special candle lighter is quite essential for this type of candle as it is difficult to get your hand down into the jar to light the candle when it burns down to a particular point. For fragranced pillar candle, however, this is not a problem at all. The wick is so easy to light for it is just out in the open and it has different type of wax for you to choose from to achieve a distinctive way of burning the candle.

People with scent allergy might have dilemmas with choosing the right candles for them and might even decide on not having any candles at all. Non-fragrance pillar candle is the answer to that problem. It is really suitable for everybody! Stack together 3 or more of these candles and complement them with a nicely tied bow or an attractive candle holder, and you now have a stylish centerpiece without even compromising your health! Then again, if you prefer fragranced pillar candles as a centerpiece, select those that are heavily fragranced and you may forget the need of lighting them. The fragrance alone is sufficient to charm every room.

A very good thing to consider when using fragranced pillar candle is to keep it away from food. The same thing goes with fragranced jar candles, free standing candles and tapered candles. For such a purpose, non-fragranced pillar candles are considered more appropriate.

One should rather choose fragranced pillar candles made of soy wax or beeswax as they are cleaner than those made of paraffin wax. The latter tend to produce filthy soot.

Be it fragranced or not, there are still a lot of factors to consider in choosing the perfect candle to match every event or intention and in doing so, one must take into consideration these two most important factors - the practicality and of course, the sense of art.
