A dead rose, still sitting in water
A hint of pink thriving to live
Brown decay begins to take over
The petals have no defense

Discolored from the death it harbors
Yearning to be released
From it's unpleasant vicinity
One week ago, a beautiful rose
Displaying an essence of allure
A scent all it's own
With a slight taste of sanctity
