FRANCE GET the BLUES

France Exit Africa 2010 in Disgrace and Disharmony

johnludden.webs.com:
The whistle has just sounded on France's 2010 world cup campaign and a
2-1 defeat to host nation South Africa leaves them bottom of the group and in disgrace. If ever the guillotine returned to favour in France then national manager Raymond Domenech and his underachieving team would now be high on any hit list to lose their heads.
A nation that prides itself on honour has just sunk to new depths when Domenech refused to shake hands with his South African counterpart Carlos Alberto Parreira. A campaign soured by sordid accusations of bullying younger players and an open revolt led by senior pros against Domenech makes this France's worst ever world cup showing.
Les Bleus Captain Patrice Evra, another whom has hardly covered himself in glory says he will speak out on the behind-the-scenes carnage once home. This after already being censored by Domenech who barred Evra from a press conference in which he was ready to blow the whistle on the whole tawdry set up.
It was a furious Evra whom informed Domenech that the players were refusing to train in protest against the sending home of Nicolas Anelka. The striker's crime being a half time rant against the coach in which allegedly every expletive known to man was hurtled in Domenech's direction.
Many observers view the Manchester United defender as the ring leader. He was also the player whom confronted physical trainer Robert Duverne and accused him of being the '˜traitor' in the camp who leaked the Anelka outburst to the press. As punishment Evra found himself dropped for the final game against South Arica and now has the look of a man ready to bury Raymond Domenech's reputation once and for all.
With Domenech stepping down, next to manage France is former Bordeaux coach Lauren Blanc. It is hoped by the French that he will bring sanity and a sense of pride back to Les Blues. As for Raymond Domenech? A man whom once publicly stated that his team selections were influenced by a player's star sign and widely regarded by many as blatantly mad! He now disappears into the distance, his reputation in ruins.
A scenarios he clearly never foresaw.
