Frances Bean Cobain Turns 18; Inherits Millions and Her Mothers Anger

Frances Bean Cobain hit her big milestone in life on August 18th when she turned 18 years old. Frances, the daughter of Hole lead singer Courtney Love and the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, reportedly quietly celebrated her birthday with her fathers family, who she has lived with since the state of Washington granted her grandmother Wendy O'Connor custody of her.

But Frances isn't just turning 18, she is also inheriting a multi-million dollar estate that includes the rights to her fathers music, likeness and personal belongings.

But the subject of Frances Cobain's trust fund has been a heated topic for several years, with many wild accusations on both sides about misuse of money, theft of money and Courtney hiding property intended for her daughter. Recently the Seattle wealth management firm holding Kurt Cobain's monetary assets froze the trust fund, and received a court order barring Courtney Love from the funds, after $8 million dollars went missing.

Courtney Love took to her Twitter account to ask fans and legal experts to help wade through legal documents and help her find out what happened to the money.While Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain's family have managed to raise a grounded and intensely private young woman, little is still known about Frances except for the four interviews she has given and photo shoots in her fathers clothes. Frances made headlines when she turned 16 and held a suicide-themed birthday party at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

She also made unwanted headlines when her mother made a pitch for Robert Pattison to ask her daughter out in 2009. Courtney went on to say her daughter had been approached for the roles of Bella in the Twilight series and Alice in Alice in Wonderland, but turned them down.

For the most part though Frances has maintained she is not like her parents, but finds people who don't know her expect her to be like her father. She has expressed an interest in going to school for fashion, but wants to stay out of the limelight.

Frances has reportedly been estranged from her mother since the age of 16, she also has a court order preventing contact with her or her Grandmother and Aunt. Not speaking to her daughter on her birthday apparently didn't sit too well with Courtney, who took to her Twitter account Wednesday to wish her daughter a Happy Birthday saying, "just go the page i love you chuck, happy 18th i got you something so bloody awesome, finally. i love you hard day for me"

But rather then following that tweet up with more love Courtney used her Twitter account to go on a long rant aimed at her daughter and the no contact rule. "and you do know its not exactly a turn on to anyones kids what youve done and its all so f**king UN necseasssry i just assumed no kin ofmine" "no kin of mine or of kurts who despised yoru grandmother, ( ask charles cross) with a vengeance would go "where the money is" shocked" "beyond the obviopus heartache why are you trying to desperatly to ruin my life and reputation? what is it did you decide to be linda?"

After finishing the rant Courtney switched back to nice and loving, before going on another rant. "well i long for your kiss and your sweet head smell i long for you i ache for you, i die for you every day my heart breaks for you, sowrong" "and youve taken away all motivation to do anything i couldnt give a f**k i go where im told go thru the motions why? i warned you theyd come" "was that thearpist right? why do u want to ruin my personal life? they dont theres billions int his you were manipulated but why sellmeout?" "youve done a dammed good job frances of destroying anything i could build that is positive, and i want to know why now that your of age." "for gods sake now that your of age run like hell they have to give you by law 30k a mionth no matter what not 15k seen your legal bills?"

Here's hoping Frances Bean can move on in her life and make a path in the world all her own. She has the means to do it now, and based on her previous comments, she seems to have a great head on her shoulders.
