Franchise Your Business

Jim Posey
Franchising allows someone to use a brand to reach a customer base in a new area. Many people look to invest in franchise for a number of reasons. There is not as much risk when investing in someone else's franchise because it has already proven to be a reliable business model. You can easily access a customer base that is already loyal to a brand. Your marketing strategies are pre decided for you and most of the time they are winners when dealing with bigger franchises. It is a quick solution for anyone who wants to get involved in the business world. Companies and entrepreneurs want to franchise their business in order to get royalties from the business. It is pretty much maintenance free as well for the business owner franchising because the other owner will have to maintain the franchise.

Before you decide that your business is should be a franchise you need to figure out if it is worth the time and energy. Let's look back at what makes a franchise a good idea. You need to have a loyal customer base that will accept a franchise. You need to have a proven business plan that will work with little alteration no matter where you put it. Your business also has to work in different areas , in other words it can not be geographically limited. So you need to ask yourself, is my business making a good profit? Does my business have a customer base that will follow a franchise? Is my business geographically niched? If you can answer these questions, then your business is probably ready to be franchised.

There is also an issue of training someone to do your job. Will you be able to train someone to do your job in as little as two to three weeks? You will also need to produce instructional material in order to train the new employees that will be hired under your new boss. You can choose to train them through video tapes or through instructional booklets however they must be able to operate at a level of that of your existing employees. You are also going to need your staff to be able to run things why you are out setting up this franchise.

The next step to franchise your business is to raise the funds necessary. It will cost anywhere from 500,000 to 1 million dollars to be able to franchise an existing business. Home based business's are naturally cheaper to franchise and location based business's are more expensive.
