The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton's Wilshire room at 10 am PT, on December 12th. A 10 foot image of the stamp to be released will be unveiled at that time.
Frank Sinatra has won many awards during his long career including an Oscar and several Grammy awards. He won the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1971. The Kennedy Center also recognized him in 1983. Sinatra was a generous man. He gave money to many charities. In 1985 President Reagan awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on December 12, 1915. He died in 1998. Four years after his death, in 2002, the Hoboken Post Office was renamed in his honor.
