Frankie & Benny's is known for their blend of American and Italian styled cooking. The restaurant was recently named the Best Italian Restaurant Chain in 2009 by the Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Association (PAPA).
Frankie & Benny's breakfast menu consists of many classic breakfast dishes, including the Traditional Breakfast, which includes sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, and potatoes. You can also get a 4oz. steak with eggs, or go for an English muffin with eggs and bacon. The menu also offers the Scottish Breakfast, complete with smoked bacon, sausage, eggs, potato scone, black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes, and baked beans. If you're feeling especially hungry for some breakfast, go for the Caledonian Breakfast, which is probably more than most people can finish.
For lunch, Frankie & Benny's is known for their 2 or 3 course specials. While one main course is around 6 pounds, getting 2 courses (starter and main, or main and dessert) is worth about 7.25 pounds, and 3 courses (starter, main, and dessert) is worth 8.45 pounds.
Starters include everything from a 10'' tomato and garlic pizza bread to fried calamari served with Neapolitan dip.
Pasta options include spaghetti bolognese as well as meatballs with spaghetti. You can also try out the chicken penne romana.
Frankie & Benny's 10'' pizza options are also a good place to pick your main course. If you're feeling for something spicy, try the American Hot pizza, topped with spicy pepperoni and fresh chilli. Or, try the Californian pizza, which is topped with goat's cheese, tomato, mushrooms, mixed peppers, and melted mozzarella all on a nut pesto base.
Frankie & Benny's special main courses are a little more American, with everything from the BLT sandwich to a classic hamburger. You can even get a delicious hotdog with house fries.
The dessert section is another plus to Frankie & Benny's. Try 3 scoops of real dairy ice cream, or satisfy your sweet tooth with brownies and ice cream. You can also get a cinnamon waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, or a fruit crumble served with custard or ice cream.
Frankie & Benny's has many other options, including a kid's menu, to ensure everyone at the table is satisfied. Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is also quite welcoming. With music from the '50s and black-and-white photographs all over the walls, Frankie & Benny's provides a comforting atmosphere perfect for family and friends. The staff are also very friendly and helpful when picking out what to eat.
