Frankie Farrell's Irish Pub & Grille is located at 8112 Poinciana Boulevard at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa. It's brand spanking new and not too bad on the eyes, but don't let that fool you into stepping inside. Frankie Farrell's is about as bad as it gets.
I'm a big fan of Irish pubs, and I was excited about the arrival of Frankie Farrell's, which is right near my house. But the excitement quickly died when I stepped inside. They advertise as a big sports place, but on the first Thursday night of the Major League Baseball Playoffs, not a single one of their televisions was tuned into the games. No, apparently Frankie Farrell's is all about soccer, and not a single one of the several people on staff could manage to turn the channel on one of their dozens of televisions to TBS.
And I was there waiting for quite a while. Over an hour to be exact. I was told that was because I ordered the hamburger, and that took a while to cook. "Because it's so thick," they said. But what I got wasn't thick, it sure as heck wasn't juicy. It was a dried out piece of meat in the shape of a ball.
Well, at least Irish pubs are at least always quick on the draw when it comes to serving beer, right? Not so fast. Not a Frankie Farrell's. My first pint arrived just before the meal (and as you know, that took plenty of time). The second never arrived at all. And by then, I really could've used one, because this experience was quickly turning into a nightmare.
Of the four families visible to me (none interested in soccer, by the way), three of them left without eating. I remained for the sake of this review. If I save just one person from trying this place, I've served my purpose.
So, stay far away from Frankie Farrell's Irish Pub & Grille in Orlando, Florida. In the meantime, I'll petition the Orange County Sheriff's Office to put up that police caution tape.

Post a Commentupon our visit to lake buena vista resort village and spa, it didnt take long to come across frankie farrell's. our stay was for 4 weeks so we visited regually and every single visit was wonderfull. food and service was always to the best of standards. the entire team should be proud of the level of every aspect, that the irish pub has undoubtedly reached. they really made our holliday. thank you very much to the entire frankie farrell's team.
Couldn't disagree more. We honeymooned in Orlando, and met with friends at Frankie Farrell's. The service was lightning quick, food was good (fresh and not not too fast-food tasting, like T.G.I. Friday's or Ruby Tuesday) and the Smithwick's was cold. Cozy. Didn't watch the TV, just enjoyed the meal and company.
I live down the street and this is a great place to watch football. There were about a hundred people there for the FA Cup final, plus they play MLS (American soccer league (where Becks plays when he feels up tot it)), Series A, UEFA Cup and qualifiers (why would you go to an Irish bar to watch baseball, go to an American sport's bar, they are a dime a dozen in Florida; finding a pub that will give priority to football (soccer) in the states is a rarity). The pub is always full of Europeans on holiday looking for a break from the Florida theme park boredom. These tourists are very friendly and seem happy to have found a place that is very social (football conversations are always heated and intelligent, another rarity in Florida) and not a Disneyfied "pub" (Raglan Road, the Disney "Irish" pub, will make your eyes bleed and then there are the Disney prices, $7-8 for a pint, ouch). Prices are fair, beers are authentic, great live entertainment and the food is good. Plus, it has muc
From the looks of some of the comments, FF got off to a bad start. However, I was there on a couple of occasions recently, and I have to say I would highly recommend this place. The staff was courteous and helpful from the servers and bartenders to the Management. The entertainment was great with live traditional Irish music, Kevin Breslin from Ireland, and a bagpipe player in full brigade. We had the fish and chips for dinner which in my opinion, you would have a hard time to find better. It looks like they got all the kinks worked out and now is a spot not to be missed!
Yuo were a a british target bar ..why would they put on baseball..are you stupid ?? Yuo were probably "that guy" who obviously thinks is a big-shot and came of as a jerk. I wouldn't channge the channel for you either. Also maybe they arent' allowed to put on baseball. Go across the street to Cheers. They definetly won't take your crap.
I eat at this place at least once a week. I love the food and the service.
you should try the best of british on i drive the best fry up in orlando and they are family owned and great people we went to watch arsenal they won so a great result allround we will be back in may
We went to the pub as we are from Glasgow,Scotland and we were looking to view Scottish football, which was advertised in the local newspaper. We were met by a bartender who sported a big red beard, was not only unhelpful, but very ignorant, and made us feel very unwelcome because we did not order food. Not the place to go if you want to watch soccer as staff do not know how to operate the controls. rating 1 out of 10.
Great Pub. The bartenders are always friendly and fast service. Food is pretty good for a pub. They have over 30 imported beers on tap. The prices for drinks is around $5.00 a 20 oz beer & $3-8 on drinks depending on liqours. Great for Soccer games, NFL, and MLB. On fridays and saturday nights they usual have some kind of DJ or Live music of some kind. They are planning to expand bar with pool tables, darts, etc... No smoking inside bar, but they have a nice outside area where smoking is allowed. Fun place to chill & grab a drink with friends. 1 out of 10 I would say a 7
This pub was great last Saturday to watch the Rugby World cup. Will be going to watch the final. It's clean, smoke free with a nice outside seating area and serves good food. The only thing missing is a band.
