Franklin Mint is best known for manufacturing some of the best model cars in the world. Most of these models are American classics from car companies such as Ford, Chevy, and Lincoln. Franklin Mint has released foreign automobiles in the past as well. Some of these models are based on European cars such as Porsches, Mercedes Coupes, and Ferraris. They are incredibly rare and can go as high as one hundred dollars on auctions sites like www.eBay.com. Many of the classic American cars the Franklin Mint has are of course, muscle cars. You can find some of these beauties at www.FranklinMint.com and they are typically sold for about $135 apiece. I recommend using the monthly payment plan that allows you to make three simple payments of forty five dollars. It seems that Franklin Mint's Ford Mustang models are the most popular among model car collectors. The most popular Mustang would be the model based on the 1968 film, "Bullitt", which starred Steve McQueen.

My personal favorite Franklin Mint model cars would be the Corvettes and the Mustangs. I really do not care which year they are based on as long as they are actually based on a model from the past. I believe the nicest Corvette Franklin Mint has ever manufactured would be the 1982 Corvette. The Corvette model I own is based on the 1978 model which is a 1:24 scale car. The 1:24 scale model cars measure approximately seven inches across and have much more detail than a 1:43 scale model car. Anyway, the 1978 Corvette model I own is silver and has an incredibly detailed engine. The tires are made out of a hard rubber material that will really impress most collectors that never owned a Franklin Mint model car.

I'm currently planning on purchasing several Franklin Mint Ford Mustangs that are based on the 2005 and 1967 models. The 2005 models sell for very little money on eBay because they are very easy to find. It is best to get that car on eBay than Franklin Mint's official website since they are nearly one hundred dollars cheaper.
