Franklin, Tennessee's Top Neighborhoods

Franklin is a small town a short distance south of Nashville, Tennessee and is well known for its upscale neighborhoods, small town charm and gorgeous farmland. Franklin is located in Williamson County and was named as one of the newest "Preserve America" communities by First Lady Laura Bush. This kind of community has proven that is dedicated to preserving America's heritage while promising opportunity for learning and growth for the future. Franklin was incorporated in 1799 and was named for scientist and inventor Ben Franklin. It has a historical downtown square, preserved historical Victorian and Antebellum homes and the Natchez Trace Parkway. Franklin also has wonderful shopping and dining. It is becoming one of the most well known places to relocate to in middle Tennessee and it also has some of the most elite neighborhoods as well.

One of Franklin's most popular and largest neighborhood is Fieldstone Farms. It is actually one of the largest planned housing communities in the state. This Franklin neighborhood is almost like a little self-contained town with its own stores and dining. Fieldstone Farms also has a top-rated elementary school and fire station. It is about a ten minute drive to a major shopping mall, numerous restaurants and offices. Fieldstone Farms' neighborhood is near a river and has miles of trails and loads of common ground to give it a spacious feel. The entire neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful white fences and impressive stone entrances.

Fieldstone Farms has more than 2,000 homes separated into twenty-five different areas within the neighborhood and covers more than nine hundred acres. This Franklin community includes single family homes in variety of styles ranging from starter homes to upscale custom homes. This neighborhood also includes town homes and has a section of homes just for senior citizens. Fieldstone Farms is so large it includes several playgrounds for the children and a Swim and Tennis Club that includes an Olympic sized swimming pool, fitness classes and a soccer field. There are activities in the clubhouse that are geared for all ages, including children. This Franklin neighborhood is an easy commute to Brentwood, Murfreesboro and Nashville.

This next neighborhood in Franklin is a private gated community of multimillion dollar homes named Laurelbrooke. It is on almost 600 acres of gorgeous forested land. This neighborhood has five separate sections, each with its own style. Laurelbrooke is well known for the natural and man-made landscapes and streetscapes which are so beautiful they almost have a fairytale quality. This exclusive Franklin neighborhood has a 4,000 square foot club house with a fully equipped fitness center, gourmet kitchen, wet bar, media room with giant television, and a large entertainment area. The club house also includes a heated pool, toddler pool, fountain and large patio.

The amenities in the neighborhood of Laurelbrooke include two lighted tennis courts, a multi-use playing field and a basketball court. There are also a playground, a covered picnic pavilion, and miles of paved hiking and walking trails. Some of these trails even lead to several stocked fishing ponds with fountains and waterfalls.

Westhaven is another elite neighborhood in Franklin that is built on more than 1,500 acres. It will have more than 2,500 residences and 500,000 square feet of commercial space when it is completed. This unique upscale Franklin neighborhood is also being designed to meet residents' needs without having to leave Westhaven. When this neighborhood is complete, it will have job opportunities, shopping and entertainment all within walking distance in the neighborhood. Westhaven has a golf course and huge residents club. There are a basketball court, craft room, fitness room, meetings and event area. It even includes a movie theater with forty seats.

The amenities are almost endless in this neighborhood with features that are cutting-edge for the self-contained neighborhoods such as Westhaven. The activities that will be available are amazing assortments that usually aren't found elsewhere. There will be a ladies night, men's breakfast group, toddler play groups, sewing groups, teen committee, art classes, garden club and a flower planting class for children. This doesn't even include all of the activities planned for this Franklin neighborhood with an obvious focus on community. This neighborhood is divided into five residential areas all joined together by a series of greenways, playing fields, and parks. The spaces are designed around existing streams on this beautiful piece of land.
