Holly Dawn Tindell, 27, of North Carolina was arrested in Cleveland , Tennessee on Saturday. She didn't just walk into the Food Lion and ask for money; no she used some creative crookery to get the loot.
Tindell's tactics were to pretend to be an employee of a store such as Food Lion. In this case she went to the Food Lion store and told them she was an employee of another Food Lion location and that she was there to pick up money. She even provided proof - a note from the Food Lion store. Well, they gave her the $350 she wanted and then followed her when they realized they'd been had!
She was stopped by police and they found out she had outstanding warrants in Bradley County, Tennessee. When questioned she admitted to taking the money. She also left her 3-year-old in the vehicle unattended, which led to other charges. Added to that, she has outstanding warrants in North Carolina as well.
Fraud at the Food Lion has given Tindell free room and board at the Bradley County jail for theft of under $500, and that's just for starters. She is also being charged with child neglect. In North Carolina she will be looking at charges of theft over $1,000 and another for over $500. As the investigation continues, they expect more charges to be made in regards to other thefts she might have committed.
This most recent case of Fraud at the Food Lion has been solved, their money was returned and the master-mind of creative crookery has been caught. Fraud at the Food Lion Failed.
