f.w.
One of the biggest scams is online fraud with millions of online rip-off merchants daily tying to make money from innocent victims. So, how do you avoid becoming a statistic? With the new age online shopping, cyber crime is the highest rated than any other and makes people more vunerable and sceptical when buying on the internet. Despite this, major online organizations are attracting more citizens into their online stores and the amount of people setting up their own online business with about 17% of people experience a bad online transaction.

If you are buying or trading online then common sense if called for and ensure that the company you are dealing with instills confidence especially if you are using a credit-card transaction. Always know who you are dealing with and take time to learn and study the company prior to purchasing or selling goods. For general safety ensure that the transaction is traceable and has a tracking mechanism. For example, Western Union, an excellent company by any standard, does not recommend that you use them for internet purchases as it is not designed for online purchases.

The international company PayPal is traceable as firstly, users have to be identified and if something does go wrong you are covered for up to $500 and get your money back. Common sense will tell you that whilst trading online use the same judgement as ou would when buying or selling elsewhere. Take time to survey and educate yourself about the online company.
