Sometimes you buy a product and become properly enraged because the company has perpetrated a consumer fraud.
I eat a lot of higher quality canned soups to help maintain a healthy diet and control my calories.
I just tried a new Campbell's Chunky soup called Roasted Chicken with Country Vegetables. It is a Healthy Request version, meaning it has lower salt content, very little fat, and just 180 calories for the whole can.
Here is the fraud part of my story. Over half the contents of the can are chunks of potato, with very little chicken or other vegetables. I do not like to eat potatoes because they have little nutrition and a relatively lot of calories.
Campbell's should call this product Chunky Potato with Chicken, because it is by weight and volume mostly potatoes, clearly a lot cheaper than chicken or even healthier vegetables.
I felt cheated, betrayed and a sucker because I had purchased four cans of this new soup.
This is yet another example of profit-driven companies using false and misleading labels on food products to defraud consumers.
Shame on Campbell's.
