Free 4th of July Ecards

Shannon Lausch
Want to send an ecard to share your patriotic pride this July 4th? Plenty of sites offer an array of ecards depicting American flags, bald eagles, fireworks, and more. Best of all, they're free.

Be careful, however, when browsing ecard websites. Check their privacy statement (to avoid spam), and when you're a recipient of an ecard, never open one from an unfamiliar email address or download any attachments or programs. Check out this McAfee article for more safety tips and warnings when browsing ecard websites.

So where should you start your search? The following five websites are great sources for free Fourth of July ecards.

123 Greetings

123 Greetings has one of the largest collections of Fourth of July ecards. There are over one hundred choices that are divided by categories labeled "Loved Ones," "Fireworks," "Friends," "Wishes," and more. Most are animated and play music. A few, like "Set of Fireworks For You," are interactive. You can personalize any card you send with a message.

All-Yours

All-Yours has over fifty patriotic ecards. The ecards come in three types: animated, wallpaper, and postcard. Most of them are cutesy cartoons or photos of fireworks or American flags.

Select any one to personalize it. All-Yours has more options than 123 Greetings. You can choose the background color, layout, what music plays, the message, and the message's font. If you do not wish to receive further emails from this site, be sure to uncheck the box at the end asking if you wish to receive a newsletter.

Funny-Ecards

Funny-Ecards offers eleven July 4th ecards. All of them are cartoon animations. As for whether the ecards are actually funny...well, at least they're free, right? Riiight? One neat feature is that you can select when the website sends the card.

EGreetings

EGreetings has six cards to choose from that are Fourth of July-themed. If you're sick of cartoonish cards, most of the ecards here depict simple scenes that use iconic American images. All of the ecards are flash-animated and musical. You can personalize your card with a message, but if you're feeling especially uninspired, EGreetings has a list of "Suggested Messages."

World Wildlife Fund

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has a stellar reputation when it comes to not sending spam. If you want to support a cause and wish someone a happy Fourth of July, then the World Wildlife Fund may be the website for you. You'll have to personalize each one, since there's not a specific Fourth of July themed ecard (at least not yet). Be sure to unmark the checkbox if you do not wish to receive a WWF newsletter.
