Free 4th of July Events in Little Rock, Arkansas

The Fourth of July in Little Rock, Arkansas is a blast. Events such as Pops on the River are a permanent part of many families Independence Day traditions. Residents and visitors alike know they can count on these events for a fun and family friendly Fourth of July.

Pops on the River

This annual event is the largest Fourth of July event in Arkansas. It takes place at the Riverfest Amphitheater. This event is Sponsored by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Even the youngest of kids will enjoy the music. Bring a lawn chair or blanket as there is limited amphitheater seating available. Food and beer vendors will be there to offer up culinary delights to visitors. Musical entertainment will be provided by Oh Say! Can You Sing? Top 5 at 6:30pm, Happy Times Jazz Band at 7:00 pm, and The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra completes the musical lineup at 8:00 pm.

Fireworks start at approximately 9:30 pm. Admission is free but donations of cash or non-perishable food are appreciated. For more information about Pops on the River call 501-378-3807. The event runs from 5:30 to 10:00 at the Riverfest Amphitheater.

Fun on the Fourth

Pinnacle Mountain, located just west of Little Rock, offers a family fun weekend for visitors. The festivities include watermelon seed spitting, water balloon volleyball, and relay races. The event takes place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the picnic area. Contact the park at 501-868-5806 for more information. Camping is available at Lake Maumelle.

Independence Day Family Festival

On July 3, the Clinton Presidential Center will host the annual Independence Day Family Festival. Live music, storytellers, inflatable games and magicians will entertain guests from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The center will offer free admission on July 3 and July 4 to celebrate Independence Day. Audio tours on the 4th will also be free. Call the center at 501-663-1196 for more information.

If you plan to visit Little Rock, Arkansas for the Fourth of July there are plenty of hotels to accommodate you. Restaurants abound and there is a place to satisfy everyone. If you prefer the great outdoors to a hotel, look into camping at the many states and local parks. Campsites offer services that range from full RV hookups to primitive tent sites are available. Lake Maumelle is the closest camping area to downtown Little Rock.
