Pretty much everyone would like to make a quick buck now and again. And with the internet now expediting nearly every aspect of or lives, it's only logical that people would begin looking online for new methods of moneymaking. Like many, the skeptic in me thought that online money earning sites were just a myth, until I tried out Dietzel and Dietzel corp.'s fabulous Cash Lagoon.
This site provides users with Paypal cash in exchange for filling out surveys and online offers. As if this weren't appealing enough, Dietzel is expanding their network of profitable sites. On August 10th 2007 Dietzel and Dietzel unveiled their newest moneymaking creation, tailored specifically to anime fans- Anime Lagoon.
Anime Lagoon works in much the same way as Cash Lagoon, but the prize incentives are more particular to anime and manga fans. All you have to do is visit AnimeLagoon.com, whereabouts you'll be asked to fill out a simple registration form. After registering and verifying your account, you're ready to start earning points, which can be redeemed for anime DVDs, t-shirts, action figures and more.
Earning points is simple, all you have to do is fill out brief surveys, and sign up for offers. Available offers on Anime Lagoon range from signups for other freebie sites, to limited trial offers for products. While some offers do require a nominal fee or the use of a credit card, the majority are 100% free. And to make things easier, Anime Lagoon labels all of their offers for you, so it's simple to sort out the free offers from the credit card offers.
From my experiences on the Cash Lagoon site, I know that the free offers add up quickly- I initially made over $100 using only the free offers. The credit card offers can be tempting, as they generally boast higher point incentives, but a telephone cancellation is usually required to stop from being charged. If you want to take the plunge into the credit card offers, be sure to read the Terms of Service specifically on each site, as any hidden charges can be found there.
Offers on Anime Lagoon will generally credit in less than an hour, after which the points will be deposited into your account, and you can begin spending them on anime and manga goods. Don't fret if some of your offers don't credit, this is normal and happens to everyone. You can combat this by deleting your cookies after every offer (click control panel/internet options/delete cookies), rotating a few different email addresses used when completing the offers, and making sure your pages load completely before you click to the next.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Anime Lagoon is the referral system. For every person you get to sign up using your referral link, you will earn an extra 20% of their total earnings. This system has the potential to become a powerful earnings tool- you could consider posting links to Anime Lagoon in your blog, website or even in an email signature.
After you've accumulated as many points as you desire, you can trade them for anime. Anime Lagoon has a specific set of series to choose from, currently including Bleach, Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist. Within each category lies DVDs that an Anime Lagoon member can purchase with the points. Additionally, there is a user's choice option, that allows Anime Lagoon members to trade their points for any anime or manga item available for sale on the web.
This is extremely convenient, as anything an anime fan might have thought about buying can now be paid for using Anime Lagoon points. It's very interesting to see a company reach for such a niche market as anime fans. While anime has undoubtedly made great strides in its mainstream popularity since the inception of Toonami and Adult Swim, it's still a very specific market. Dietzel and Dietzel must consider the anime fanbase to be strong and dedicated enough to support their newest site.
From my experiences thus far with this and other Lagoon sites, Anime Lagoon is a great new resource for fans of anime and manga. Being an anime fan is not a cheap hobby, and Anime Lagoon has the potential to help out otaku everywhere. It's an honest site that isn't unrealistic in its promises- on Lagoon sites, you won't become an instant millionaire or make enough dough to retire. But on Anime Lagoon you will have the opportunity of getting some really awesome anime DVDs, books, toys, games, posters and more, for free, and all in all, that's a pretty sweet deal.
