Free as a Sparrow
Here am I
free as a sparrow,
well protected
against a dart or an arrow.
No bird of prey
will cloud the sun
above my head,
and so help me
I am very well fed.
I have no complaints
thank God,
my nest
is a fair abode.
It is not a golden
cage though,
but I miss skipping
from bough to bough.
