Free Attraction Tickets in Orlando, Florida

Mick
A trip to Orlando, Florida can be a welcome relief for the exhausted worker or family, but the checkbook can take quite a hit unless you do some advance planning. There are plenty of places to get discounted tickets to attractions in Orlando, Florida, but where can you find free tickets?

One of the most cost effective ways of purchasing tickets is to bulk buy. Every theme park and attraction in Orlando offers some type of deal if you buy more than one day up front. For instance, both Sea World and Universal Studios can be quite pricey if you pay per day, but each offers multi-park, multi-day tickets for what amounts to barely more than the regular price. In fact, Sea World is currently offering a deal where you can get admission to both Sea World and their new water park, Aquatica, for the "Be a Kid for a Day price," which allows adults in for the same price as a child. This allows 7 days of unlimited access to both Sea World and Aquatica for less than a price of one day at each park. Additionally, for as long as we've been going, Sea World has offered day-of second day tickets as you're leaving.

The Citipass offers tickets to multiple attractions for one low price. The price varies a bit and is in flux, but, regardless of how much you spend on this Citipass, you're sure to be able to count a couple of your attractions as "free" because the overall price of the Citipass is less than the cost of the tickets to every single place.

But what if you have a big family and feel that you've already spent so much on just lodging that you'd like to save even more on attraction tickets? Nothing comes truly for free, but there are some places where you can exchange your time for park tickets. These are relatively common in Orlando, Florida, and may be offered as part of a promotional deal at your hotel or through a phone call. Usually, you'll have to sit through a lengthy hard sell promotion for something (usually a timeshare) in exchange for free tickets. Many of these are not legitimate in the truest sense of the world. For instance, they may call you, rope you in with descriptions of a "short presentation" that will get you "free Disney tickets!" However, when you finish working your way through the system and finally pay, you'll find that the tickets aren't for Disney at all. If you've received one of these phone calls at your home before your vacation, beware. The tickets may not even be for Orlando, Florida. It is not uncommon to be sold on an "all-expense paid" Disney vacation, only to find yourself on a partially paid two day trip to Gatlinberg, TN. A nice enough location, but not precisely what they sold you.

If you can get a legitimate company that will exchange your time for free tickets, make sure you've checked their website and credentials. Find out how much time you should expect to spend at the presentation, which is usually in excess of two hours. This is a good enough deal if you have a lot of extra time on your hands and the ability to staunchly insist that you don't want to get involved in the timeshares (which usually are nothing of what they've promised). Usually the tickets are not for Walt Disney World, but nearby attractions.

One thing that you absolutely must be careful about for "free" Orlando attraction tickets is that you don't get what you paid for. Beware store front vendors hawking "free" tickets, particularly for Disney, because they could be partially used multiday tickets. It is illegal to sell these, but some people still do. They seem reputable enough, but the tickets are worthless.

In short, it can be excessively difficult to find legitimately free attraction tickets, and your best bet is to purchase a huge multiday ticket and view some of your additional days as free.
