February 23 is National Banana Bread Day. Bob Evans Restaurants has a Banana Bread on their menu and in honor of the National day, has chosen to offer Free Banana Bread to customers in Detroit and Pittsburg. Other Bob Evans restaurants may do the same so check your local location to see if they are taking part in the Free Banana Bread offer. Bob Evans also owns Mimi's Café so check your local Mimi's to see if they are joining the Free Banana Bread offer. Bob Evans will give two slices of Free Banana Bread with each carryout beverage purchased.

Over the past few years IHOP offered Free Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day. This is a National event where IHOP gives free pancakes and in turn asks for a donation to the Children's Miracle Network. In 2008, IHOP gave free pancakes (a short stack of 3 per person) and in turn customers donated more than $875,000 to charity. Free pancakes are available from 7am to 10pm on Shrove Tuesday.
